Paul Holtzheimer, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Holtzheimer is a Staff Psychiatrist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Surgery, and Director of the Mood Disorders Service, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, an Associate Member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and also serves as a mentor for the Travel Awardee program.
Dr. Holtzheimer’s research is focused on the neurobiology and treatment of mood disorders, primarily treatment-resistant depression. He is an author on over 70 publications in psychiatry, neurosurgery and neuroimaging and he has been an investigator on several clinical trials of novel treatments for mood disorders, including transcranial magnetic stimulation and deep brain stimulation, as well as numerous studies investigating the structural and functional neuroanatomy of mood disorders.
